Online UPS for CCTV, Access Control and Security Sites

Cameras, recorders and door controllers are spread across many small sites, each on its own supply. We supply compact online UPS units that keep recording and doors working through outages.

What goes wrong

Typical power problems on these sites.

Gaps in footage

A short outage reboots cameras and NVRs, leaving minutes of missing video.

Doors fail open or locked

Access control without backup power can fail open or block exits.

Corrupted recordings

Hard shutdowns damage NVR disks and recording databases.

Unchecked sites

Small sites are rarely visited, so battery failure goes unnoticed.

What we would propose

Starting points; the final choice follows your load list.

Send us these for a quote

  1. Number of cameras, NVRs and access controllers per site
  2. Power draw per device or per site
  3. Required backup time
  4. Number of sites
  5. Indoor room or outdoor cabinet
  6. Monitoring needs (SNMP, dry contact)

Questions

What size online UPS does a CCTV system need?

Add up the power of cameras, NVRs, switches and monitors, add about 25 percent margin, and choose the backup time you need. Send us the device list and we size the UPS and batteries for you.

Can the UPS alert us when a remote site loses power?

Yes. An SNMP card sends alarms over the network, and dry contacts can signal an existing alarm panel.

Why online instead of a cheaper offline UPS?

An online UPS has 0 ms transfer and filters the supply continuously, so cameras and recorders do not reboot on dips. It also handles unstable supplies without draining batteries.
