Online UPS for Telecom Sites and Network Rooms

Telecom and network sites run unattended, often on unstable rural supplies. We supply rack-mount, modular and lithium-ion online UPS systems that keep links up and report problems remotely.

Rack-mount online UPS in a telecom equipment room

What goes wrong

Typical power problems on these sites.

Unstable rural grid

Long feeders bring low voltage, swells and frequent short outages to remote sites.

No one on site

Faults at unmanned rooms are found late unless the UPS reports them itself.

Tight rack space

Network cabinets leave little room or weight allowance for UPS and batteries.

What we would propose

Starting points; the final choice follows your load list.

Send us these for a quote

  1. Load per site in watts or kVA
  2. Number of sites and site types
  3. Required backup time
  4. Rack space available (U height and depth)
  5. Typical input voltage range at site
  6. Monitoring needs (SNMP, NMS integration)

Questions

Why does wide input voltage matter for telecom sites?

A UPS with a wide input range keeps running from the mains during low or high voltage instead of switching to battery. That saves battery cycles on sites with poor supplies.

Is lithium-ion worth it for remote sites?

Where space, weight or high room temperature is a problem, lithium-ion batteries usually last longer and need fewer visits. We can quote both options for comparison.

Can we monitor many sites from one place?

Yes. Each UPS takes an SNMP card that reports to your network management system, so alarms from every site arrive in one place.
